We are responsible (the data controller in technical lingo) for our website and any newsletters and marketing you've signed up for This is our GDPR compliant privacy policy and, if you landed here, it means that you want to learn how we process your personal data at BlackButterfly and how we protect your privacy. We won’t let you down. For the purposes of data protection this policy refers to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or any subsequent, and successor, legislation.

How do we process your information?
We use an external provider to run our store, BigCommerce. BigCommerce is based in the US and is a participant in the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and committed to providing best-in-class service and data protection. Through BigCommerce, we also use other, highly specialized external providers to provide the most competitive services as detailed below.

Advertising
We may use Google and Facebook retargeting to provide you relevant advertisements on third party websites available on Googles search and display network as well as your Facebook and/or Instagram feeds if you use these. The data collected here relates to the products that you may have viewed, your cart contents and whether you did or didn’t make a purchase. No personal data is used or sent to Google or Facebook regarding your website visit.

Analytics
We use information regarding your website visit with Google Analytics to enable us to improve the experience on our website. No personal data is used or sent to Google regarding your website visit.

Service Reviews
We use external third-party company Trustpilot to help collect service reviews on our behalf. You will receive an e-mail approximately 7 days from your order date asking to rate our service on Trustpilot. If you have not responded, you may receive a further reminder e-mail asking you to do so. We use Trustpilot to help give new (and existing) customers an honest representation and peace of mind of what it is like to purchase from us.

Marketing & Newsletter
We use external third-party company Mailchimp to help us send out our newsletter and help segment our marketing list with the personal data that you have provided. You will only receive our newsletter on product updates and exclusive offers if you have explicitly opt-ed in to do so. We will never send you any marketing e-mails if you have not taken the action upon yourself to sign up or given us explicit consent which allows us to do so. You will find numerous points on our website where you can be included into our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time and you will be removed right away. If you want your newsletter data deleted, please contact us at info@blackbutterflyclothing.com and we will delete them right away.

Order Aggregation
We use external third-party company Storefeeder to help us to aggregate all orders we received on our website and elsewhere. The personal data that you provided us during checkout (excluding payment information) is automatically imported into Storefeeder from where we can fulfil your order. This information is stored with Storefeeder who are GDPR compliant and is only used to help process the fulfilment of your order. No payment or other sensitive information is shared across this platform.

Order Fulfilment
We use external third-party company Amazon to help us aggregate the orders we receive on our website and elsewhere. Amazon is sent your name and shipping address as well as your order contents so that they can pick, pack & deliver the goods ordered to you. This information is stored with Amazon who are GDPR compliant and is only used to help process the fulfilment of your order. No credit card or other sensitive information is shared across this platform. No payment or other sensitive information is shared across this platform.

Payment
Our store is PCI-DSS compliant (a very strict industry standard with requirements for the security of credit card information), but we want to use accredited companies to process your credit card information. We use PayPal & Stripe as our payment gateways. These companies may use personal information provided by you in order to conduct appropriate anti-fraud checks. Personal information that you provide may be disclosed to a credit reference or fraud prevention agency, which may keep a record of that information. This is done only to confirm your identity - a credit check is not performed, and your credit rating is unaffected.

How long do we keep your data?
